Classes >> International Latin Style

Cha Cha – The Cha Cha was made famous by many Latino bands during the 1950’s, such as Xavier Cugat and Perez Prado. The International styling of Cha cha compared to the American Style is not so much of a difference except that International Cha Cha is danced with both straight legs and consists of steps called, “Hockey Stick”, “Fan” and other variations that are not in American Rhythm.

Jive – A very fast, upbeat swing. It is a very acrobatic and lively dance made popular during World War II by the swing music of Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey, and of course, Glenn Miller.

Paso Doble – Such a beautiful, theatrical dance in which the man is characterized as the matador and the woman as his cape. This dance is based on Flamenco dancing. Paso Doble is arrogant, strong, and yet passionate. What a delight this dance is!

Rumba – The Dance of Love. Sultry, and romantic, this dance will make onlookers sweat! Danced with straight legs and starts on the count of 4.

Samba – Originated in Brazil, and unlike any other dances in the International Latin category, this dance travels around the floor with spins and controlled bouncing.
